Design and Aesthetics
OM and Co’s latest offering, the OM-3, is a testament to the brand’s commitment to blending classic aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. The camera’s design draws inspiration from the iconic OLYMPUS OM-1, offering a retro yet sleek look that is both visually appealing and functional. The OM-3 features a classic five-sided pentaprism, triangular cuts on the sides, and a turntable-style naval head, all of which contribute to its unique appearance and ease of use.
Functionality and Features
Under the hood, the OM-3 is equipped with intuitive dials and buttons that make it a breeze to operate. The creative dial allows for direct access to various image enhancement modes, such as color profile control, mono profile control, art filters, and color creation. Additionally, the camera boasts the latest digital technology from OM and Co, with the CP button providing access to features like high-definition shooting, real-time ND photography, real-time GND photography, depth of field synthesis, HDR, and multiple exposures.
Hardware Configuration
When it comes to hardware, the OM-3 doesn’t disappoint. It features a back-illuminated stacked LIVE MOS sensor, the TruePic X image processing engine, and high-performance M.ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses, all of which contribute to its stunning high-resolution capabilities. Even in low-light environments, the OM-3 delivers high-quality images. The camera also boasts an AI subject recognition autofocus feature, developed using deep learning technology, which allows for fast and accurate identification of subjects.
Price and Availability
The OM-3 is set to hit the shelves on February 12, 2025, with the overseas single-lens body priced at $1,999 (approximately 14,550 RMB).
