Stucaí an Screabáin, a public artwork set up outdoors Áislann Ghaoth Dobhair, was formally launched final Wednesday. Authority President of the Gaeltacht Anna Ní Gallachair.
The work was ordered inside the framework of the “P.c for Artwork” program, by which Authority na Gaeltachta, Donegal County Council and Ealaín na Gaeltachta have been in search of submissions from artists for a chunk of public artwork highlighting the normal heritage of native work and labour.
The submission submitted by well-known artist Locky Morris has been accepted and his new and distinctive paintings completely displays the chosen theme.
Authority na Gaeltachta Performing Chief Government Colm Ó Coisdealbha mentioned:The themes mirrored on this paintings are these which are strongly related to the heritage and collective reminiscence of the Donegal Gaeltacht neighborhood.
He added: “They keep in mind the work of earlier generations, the exhausting work undertaken at residence and overseas, and the numerous modifications to conventional work and work practices lately.
Stucaí an Screabáin, situated in Páirc Gnó Ghaoth Dobhair, can also be a reminder of the massive modifications caused by technological progress and the good alternatives it creates for Gaeltacht communities.”
